Extramedullary plasmacytoma of the thyroid: report of a rare case

چکیده
et al. [1] have shown that, on preand post-treatment evaluation of the lymph nodes, infiltration of Ki67and CD3-positive, CD8-positive, granzyme B-positive T cells increases. It has been observed that, in patients with Hodgkin lymphoma who are treated with lenalidomide and who develop TFR, cytokines (particularly interleukin [IL]-6, IL7, APRIL, BAFF/BLyS) are released because of B cell activation, and levels of free light chains increase distinctively; these changes are reflected in the clinical properties. Likewise, it has been shown that when the TFR subsides, cytokines and light chain levels decrease to normal levels [5]. Therefore, for patients who develop TFR, it is suggested that dexamethasone be used, as it provides distinctive improvement by especially inhibiting CD40 regulation [1]. The mechanism through which the R-HCVAD treatment leads to TFR is not known, but one of the above-listed mechanisms may play a role.

Radioresistant Extramedullary Plasmacytoma of the Maxillary Sinus: A Case Report and review article
Introduction: Plasmacytoma is a monoclonal proliferation of plasma cells. It can be an isolated lesion, for which the term extramedullary plasmacytoma is used, or a representation of multiple myeloma. The upper respiratory tract is the most common site for an extramedullary plasmacytoma. Sinonasal plasmacytomas cause different symptoms depending on the sites of origins and the areas of involveme...
متن کاملSolitary Plasmacytoma of the Mandible: Report of a Rare Case
Solitary bone plasmacytoma belongs to a group of lymphoproliferative clinical disorders typified by clonal proliferation of plasma cells. Solitary plasmacytoma typically involves a single bone or extramedullary site. It commonly occurs in the vertebrae or thorax, and rarely involves the mandible. The aim of this report is to present a rare case of solitary plasmacytoma of the jaws mimicking per...
متن کاملPrimary plasmacytoma of the thyroid.
Primary plasmacytoma of the thyroid is a very rare tumour. We report a case and emphasize the importance of excluding multiple myeloma which may present as an extramedullary plasmacytoma. Histological diagnosis has been simplified by the use of immunohistochemical techniques.

متن کاملPrimary Plasmacytoma of the Kidney
Primary renal plasmacytomas are an extremely rare clinical condition. Their management is particularly challenging due to the paucity of evidence, with only just over a dozen previously reported cases. We report a case of a primary extramedullary plasmacytoma of the kidney and performed a review of the literature. The case is presented as a learning point that it is imperative to keep plasmacyt...
